The Stamp of the Label
The 'Véritable Cherbourg'. Its Coat of arms.
Under the crown of crenels of the fortified town of Cherbourg, two umbrellas as defense are crowned with laurel and oak branches. The escutcheon of Cherbourg is depicted with an azure background of sky and sea, fronted by a silver stripe (symbol of sand) upon which are featured three stars (navigators'guides) ; three golden bezants are placed as a sign of wealth (trades with faraway lands).
The Coat of arms is embroidered by 9695 stitches, directly onto the fabric.
The ring
A ring as an ornament to every umbrella.
Made out of solid brass, and stamped with the label's Coat of arms, it has either an 18 or 24-carat gild finish, or else a (steel-like) rifle barrel-anthracite grey one.
The Insider's detail
Folding the umbrella with two thick straps : take them both in hand, wind them together around the umbrella, and slide them shut.
A characteristic curve
The Véritable Cherbourg can also be recognized by its specific and unique curve.
